GTCR Wins “Private Equity Firm of the Year” Award
The M&A Advisor recognizes GTCR with top award
May 19, 2011 (Chicago, IL) – GTCR, a leading private equity firm, announced that it won the “Private Equity Firm of the Year” Award during The M&A Advisor’s 6th Annual M&A Financing Awards Gala at the Drake Hotel in Chicago on May 16. Phil Canfield, GTCR principal, accepted the award on behalf of the firm.

The M&A Advisor Awards honor excellence in deal-making. This year, there were 130 finalists in 22 categories. An independent body of experts, who represent a cross-section of the financing industry, judged the finalists’ deals in the security of Merrill DataSite’s Virtual Data Room. The event was hosted by Fox Business Network reporter, Jeff Flock.
In addition to receiving the “Private Equity Firm of the Year” Award, at the Gala, Bruce Rauner, GTCR principal, was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant achievements in M&A and financing during his esteemed career. Also, Barry Dunn, GTCR principal, shared his expertise as a panelist during the “Evolution of Financing Sources in America – The New Investing Landscape” roundtable discussion during the M&A Advisor’s Alternative Investing and Financing Summit earlier in the day.
