Joe joined GTCR in 1994. He became a Principal in 1996 and transitioned to become a Senior Advisor in 2012. He is currently a director of AssuredPartners, Capella Healthcare, Devicor Medical Products and Heritage Golf. In addition, Joe served as a director of prior GTCR portfolio companies including Alliant Resource Group, APS Healthcare, HealthSpring, Managed Healthcare Associates and Province Healthcare. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BS in Accounting with high honors from the University of Illinois.

Joe is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Regents of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, a Trustee for the North Shore Country Day School and a Trustee of the University of Chicago Medical Center.
